SPEAKING.
It’s not because we can that we should.
Much of today’s discourse on Artificial Intelligence (AI) oscillates between technological optimism and fear-driven narratives, often skipping the harder question: where does AI genuinely belong, and where does it not? The most meaningful advances rarely come from maximal automation, but from carefully deciding what should remain human, what can be augmented, and how the two can coexist responsibly. The real challenge is no longer building smarter algorithms. It is deciding where intelligence belongs, how it should be constrained, and how it can be integrated without eroding human expertise, accountability, and trust.
As a Computer Scientist, my perspective is shaped by deep, hands-on experience designing and deploying applied AI systems across sectors. From early conversational agents developed in the pre-transformer era, to smart interactive museum guides adopted by leading European institutions, to collaborative robotics and adaptive industrial systems, and more recently mental healthcare technologies, I have worked at the boundary where algorithms meet real-world constraints. These experiences made me a firm believer in a grounded, systems-level view of AI as something that must be surgically applied, not indiscriminately scaled.

In my talks, I aim to connect disciplines that are often siloed. I often draw from my experiences, framing AI not as an autonomous force, but as a designed layer within the cyber, the physical and our social systems.
